Fall Family Photos on Seattle’s Eastside: Where to Go & What to Wear
Looking for a good spot for fall family photos on Seattle’s Eastside? This session was photographed along a street near Mark Twain Elementary School in Kirkland’s Rose Hill neighborhood. The red, orange, and yellow leaves gave us several different backgrounds within a short walk. It’s a great example of how a neighborhood street can work beautifully for fall photos, you don’t always need to head to a big park.
outfit ideas
Cream, beige, and brown are easy choices for fall family photos, and this family’s outfits are a good example. Mom’s brown dress, Dad’s light shirt and brown pants, and their daughter’s cream outfit worked well together against the red and golden leaves.
You don’t need everyone in matching outfits. Pick two or three colors and mix in different textures, like knits, linen, or a pleated skirt. Simple pieces without large logos or busy patterns help keep the photos focused on your family.
For cooler days, bring a coat or cardigan that works with your outfit. Comfortable shoes are helpful, too, since we’ll be walking and may sit on the grass for a few photos.
